At around 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 1983, Sunny Park and two cleaners arrived at 3835 Presidential Parkway, an office park complex comprised of five small buildings, to start cleaning. They stayed all night until dawn. Within a few hours, Park received a call from the customer telling him that the buildings never looked cleaner. The rest is history?Park now owns the building and uses it as his main office.

From this very first account with monthly revenues of $3,000, Park's new cleaning company, General Building Maintenance, Inc. (GBM), grew into one of the most respected commercial janitorial companies in the South with annual revenues that now exceed $34 million, operating in 12 cities with over 1,000 employees. The company's growth has been achieved with no acquisitions and no sales force.

Parks business philosophy is "Maintaining a clean building is our only reason to stay in business", which is based on the company's slogan -'Zero Defects is our Goal' - has led to many satisfied customers who still recommend GBM and its services to others.
